Welcome back to the Retro Re-pin Party!

This week I have gone absolutely pumpkin crazy.  I’ve been holding off on the pumpkin spice all the things craze, but I just had to jump on the bandwagon for the week of Halloween. It’s our family tradition!  What’s your favorite pumpkin recipe? I’ve got some Pumpkin Spice Kettle Corn and some Slow Cooker Pumpkin Spinach Mac and Cheese on the blog this week.

Pumpkin Spice Kettle Corn-SustainingthePowers

Slow Cooker Pumpkin Mac and Cheese -Crocktober Week 5. You'll never guess this mac and cheese contains pumpkin. It's all sorts of creamy, cheesey goodness, and the best part is you just dump it all into your slow cooker and walk away!

(Yep, you caught me. The same pumpkins are in both shots. Bloggers have to work with what we can get!)

In other news, I’ve also re-designed my blog with a new logo courtesy of designer Jessica Triggs. Don’t you just LOVE it?!

Do you have some great trick or treats planned for this week? Spooky recipes? Halloween party decorations and ideas? Last minute costumes or crafts? I can’t wait to see what you share with us down below in the linkup!

My favorite posts from last week are:

Pineapple Pork Carnitas Jonesinfortaste

In case you haven’t heard, I love my Crock-Pot! I also happen to love Mexican food. Here I have both, and it’s super easy to boot! I can’t wait to try this recipe! Street style tacos with little corn tortillas are the best.

I also love:

These Candy Corn Rice Krispies by Life is a Lullaby

Would you believe that I have never before tried making rice krispy treats? I know they’re probably the easiest thing in the world to make, but I’ve somehow never done it. Maybe it’s because I imagine the huge mess they make? Thankfully Life is a Lullaby has shown me the error of my ways and I plan to make my first ever rice krispy treat with this recipe on Friday.

Here’s a Feature Button for you two!

Apologies for the double post! I couldn’t get the computer to work and the baby started freaking out…just deleted one of my double links though, so there’s only one baby sushi now! Thank you for the party! Jill

Stephan, O do love your new header! And I use the same pumpkins or whatever in lots of shots. Fun is fun, even if it’s a bit contrived, right? Happy link partty.

I usually use the same plates/bowls/cups/etc in my shots (I only have so much cabinet space) but I always at least try to spread them out over time or mixing it up. I almost “borrowed” a few pumpkins off my neighbor’s porch to get a different take (or taking the shot on her porch) but they all seemed too big next to my bowl. She probably wouldn’t have minded if I’d left some pop corn to say thanks.

  3. Twine Covered Vase | Across the Boulevard says:

[…] I found the stems and picks at JoAnn’s on sale for 40% off. The total price for all of the stems was $12.00.  I had everything else I used on hand.   How I Made It To cover the vase with twine, I started at the bottom and put a small dab of hot glue on the vase to secure the twine. Spinning the vase, I wrapped the twine around it carefully to avoid a double row. I made sure to keep it it tightly pulled around the vase. I used a jute twine to give it a thick look.    Once I reached the part of the vase that has a slope just below the neck, I used tiny amounts of hot glue to keep the twine in place. It gets a little tricky without the glue. One last dab of glue at the very top of the vase holds it securely. To add some embellishment, I used ribbon to tie a bow around the neck of the vase.  In the center, I placed the same kind of felt rosette I used for this wreath. Adding the stems finished it off. That’s it. Simple, but pretty. This project could easily be done with wine bottles or other types of vases, or even coffee cans if shorter stems/flowers are used.  I like the height of this particular vase. It’s tall enough to sit on the floor, but not too tall if I want to place on a tabletop. For now, I’ve placed it on the hearth. It’s looking a little lonely though. I’m not sure if I can wait until after Labor Day to add some more autumn touches to my house.  Are  you getting ready for autumn yet?   Post shared on~   Retro re-Pin Party […]
