Retro Re-pin Party Time!

This has been such a crazy week for me! Last week I was in Austin, TX for my 10 year HS reunion and to spend some time with family. We got a phone call on Monday night with the awful news that my uncle had passed away suddenly. All my plans to visit with friends and relax in Austin went out the window and I ended up driving with my parents from Austin to my uncle’s place in Dallas then on to Oklahoma where the services were held in my Uncle’s tiny hometown on Saturday. My sweet hubby drove out to meet us in Oklahoma on Friday so he could drive me home and we could get my cousins back to Albuquerque along the way without spending thousands on plane tickets for all of us. Sunday night was spent in Amarillo, TX (check my Instagram feed for what Amarillo sushi looks like – Ha!) and then yesterday was spent driving to Denver by way of Albuquerque. (Which is not exactly on the way.) What a crazy week! I’m really looking forward to getting back in the swing of blogging things and getting some work done now that I’m home and have slept in my own bed once again. We’re also all still in shock at his passing, and I think it will take a while until I’ve finished processing what’s happened. He was always the “fun” uncle. Since he was a bachelor, he had all the neatest toys Mom would never allow us to own like a Sega Genesis and bottle rockets. I’ll miss him a whole lot.  How has your week been? I hope better than mine?

The Retro Re-pin Party is a quick, weekly link party where you can share some of your older (or “retro”) pinned blog posts and give them some new exposure while growing your Pinterest reach through re-pins.

My Feature This Week:

Strawberry Rose

How to make Strawberry Roses from Ashley at Ash and Crafts.

I was actually just trying to do this the other day to add to a plate for my mom. I got sort of close, but my strawberry rose ended up looking more like a squishy red pine cone, so I was super excited to see this quick and easy tutorial in last week’s party! You may be seeing a few of these as garnishes for my posts in the future. 🙂 Be sure to click through the photo and share some re-pin love!
