Happy Retro Re-pin Party!

I am so excited because tomorrow I get to head home to Austin, TX for my 10 year high school reunion! I know so many people dread theirs, but I don’t think I could ever be upset at the prospect of a week hanging out with my parents and eating all the delicious food that Austin has to offer. (BBQ heaven here I come!!) I’m sure I’ll be explaining several hundred times what exactly a food blog is (why does everyone think I’m a restaurant critic?) and how I could possibly make money with it. And sure, I’ve gained a bunch of weight since high school thanks to some medical issues and the medication I was on for them, but I’m pretty sure so many people have also changed. (I’ve probably already seen it on Facebook – nothing will surprise us in this digital age!)  My sweet friend Nichole from Vintage Frontier Blog even came over yesterday and helped style my outfits, so I’m sure I’ll look good when we all run into each other on Friday. 🙂 Did you go to your 10 year reunion? How was it?

Here’s what I’ve been up to this week:

Coconut Oil Fried Plantains (Maduros) I've always wondered how to make these!

The Retro Re-pin Party is a quick, weekly link party where you can share some of your older (or “retro”) pinned blog posts and give them some new exposure while growing your Pinterest reach through re-pins.

My Feature This Week:

These Green Beans Zucchini and Bacon from Tammy at Creative K Kids.

I love green beans, zucchini, and bacon all separately, but never thought to put them together into a simple side dish! I’m growing zucchini and green beans in my garden this year, so I can’t wait to make this with my own veggies. Yum! Be sure to click the image to find her pin and show her some re-pin love!
