Welcome Back to the Retro Re-pin Party!

I hope each of you had a wonderful holiday with family! We drove from Denver to Austin for the holiday (14 hours in the car – woo!) and enjoyed some overdue time with family. We also celebrated my mom’s 60th birthday on the 22nd by throwing her a surprise wine and cheese party this past Saturday. All her friends were in on it, and my sister and I came up with a great cover story of throwing a “same year’s eve” party at a friends house so we could plan and shop for party foods without her getting suspicious. She was so, so shocked! (Happy Birthday mom!) We had such fun celebrating with Italian creme cake mini cupcakes, fancy charcuterie trays with all mom’s favorite cheeses, and a selection of red and white wines to taste. I’m so glad I don’t have to keep any more secrets!! You can check out the photos on my Instagram. How was your holiday?

On to the party!

I’d love to see some awesome New Year’s Eve food and drink ideas, 2014 wrap-ups, and any posts about goals and dreams for the new year. Remember to pin your posts first and then link up that PINTEREST PIN to the party below so we can show it some extra re-pin love! (Pinterest ranks re-pins higher than pins.)

My favorite post from the last party is:

Lemon Sauce christyscookingcreations

This Lemon Cream Sauce by Christy at Christy’s Cooking Creations

Have you ever heard of putting lemon and sugar on pancakes? I hadn’t either, but apparently they do it in Britain where Christy’s husband grew up. He inspired this sauce, and after trying this recipe over Christmas, I have to say the Brits know what they’re doing! I love that it’s so simple to put together. After the pancakes were gone, I poured this over some cinnamon apples – you should definitely try that too! Click the photo to re-pin it yourself.

Here’s a Feature Button for you Christy!

If you ever find yourself in Denver, I’ll be more than happy to have you over for dinner! I’ve also got a TV console refinishing project we could work on. I’m sure we’d have a blast!
