I’m sharing a quick and yummy recipe for One Pan Hawaiian Sloppy Joes and bringing you a huge KitchenAid Mixer giveaway with some of my Foodie BFFs! Enter at the bottom of the post!!

This is my go-to meal for a cheap, healthy, delicious, and quick dinner for a crowd.

Good morning!! Last week was a crazy and emotional week for us around here. I’m not sure I’m ready to talk about what happened yet here on the blog, but it will suffice to say that infertility sucks, and I have the best friends in the world who are there to love on me when I really need it. So thank you for the grace last week when I wasn’t able to get my usual Monday morning post out for y’all. (And thank you friends for all the love!)

This is my go-to meal for a cheap, healthy, delicious, and quick dinner for a crowd.

This recipe is one I’ve made a few times and I just love how easy and flavorful it is. (And you only dirty ONE PAN!) It’s one of my go-tos when I need to feed a crowd something somewhat healthy on the cheap. It’s also super flexible because you can dump in some of the extra veggies you have wrinkling up in your fridge to add some bonus nutrients. Carrots, squash, and various peppers are favorites for add-ins, though the “original” version of the recipe below is what’s pictured in the photos. Enjoy and don’t forget to enter the KitchenAid giveaway down below. Good Luck!

This is my go-to meal for a cheap, healthy, delicious, and quick dinner for a crowd.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium shallot, diced
  • 1/2 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 lb. ground turkey
  • 1 Tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1 8 oz can crushed pineapple
  • 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Hawaiian rolls (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a large pan over medium heat, cook the shallots and green peppers in the olive oil, stirring occasionally, until they have begun to soften. About 5 minutes.
  2. Add the ground turkey and cook over medium high heat until it has cooked through. About 8 minutes.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium low, add remaining ingredients into the ground turkey (tomato paste, tomato sauce, pineapple, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, ginger, salt and pepper), stir until well combined, and simmer until the sauce begins to thicken, about 10 minutes.
  4. Serve on Hawaiian rolls.

Notes

  • Gluten-free: This is gluten-free if you swap the hawaiian rolls for your favorite gf bun and use gf Worcestershire sauce.
  • Vegetarian/vegan: Swap the turkey for some vegetarian “meat” crumbles.

  • Serving Size: 6

It’s 9:30 AM but these sloppy joes sound SO good right now! Love that it only takes one pan to make them. Nothing wrong with less mess in the kitchen! Super excited about this giveaway, too!
